Budeč (KG Kováry, Kr. Kladno) - ein bedeutendes Machtzentrum der frühen Přemysliden und eng mit den Anfängen der Christianisierung und den Anfängen des böhmischen Staates verbunden - gehört zu den besonders gut untersuchten frühmittelalterlichen Burgen in Böhmen. Die Studie presentiert die Ergebnisse der archäologischen Ausgrabungen und der Diskussion zentraler Forschungsprobleme (Chronologie des Fundorts, Interpretation der verschiedenen Burgareale, Siedlungsgeschichte) und charakterisiert die Stellung von Budeč im Hinblick auf die frühen Přemysliden sowie die Formierung des böhmischen Staates.

Budeč belongs to the particularly well-examined early medieval hillforts in Bohemia. It was a prominent centre of power of the early Přemyslid dynasty, which was closely connected to the beginnings of Christianisation and the outset of the Bohemian state. The study outlines the results of the archaeological excavations and a discussion of central problems of research (i. e. the chronology of the finding places, interpretations of the different areas, and settlement history) as well as characterising the status of Budeč with regard to the early Přemyslid dynasty and the formation of the Bohemian state.
