This paper presents characteristic types of damage to immovable cultural heritage due to flooding. Actions and forces are categorized according to the types of damage that they can cause. Typical examples of damage caused by individual actions are presented in the paper, which goes on to present lessons applicable for preventive protection of immovable heritage objects.
