Autor ukazuje, že realistický výklad vztahu jazyka a světa neimplikuje přímočarý vztah mezi reálností různých typů entit a mírou jejich nezávislosti na jazyku. Kreativní roli jazyka v utváření společenské reality odvozuje z kreativity lidského jednání, v nímž se utváří jazyk i společenské instituce.

The author argues that the realistic account of the relation between world and language does not imply any straightforward correlation between the reality of entities of particular types and their independence on language. The creative role of language in the construction of social reality is explained from the creativity of human action which constitutes both language and social institutions.
