Ultrastructural study of the uterus of a member of the most basal tapeworms (Cestoda: Gyrocotylidea) has shown that it possesses several characteristics unqie among parasitic flatworms (Neodermata). Results thus support the assumption about phylogenetic importance of this group of primitive cestodes.

Studium ultrastruktury dělohy zástupce evolučně nejstarších tasemnic řádu Gyrocotylidea (Cestoda) prokázalo přítomnost několika znaků unikátních mezi zástupci parazitických flathelmintů (Neodermata). Výsledky tedy potvrzují fylogenetický význam této skupiny primitivních tasemnic.
