Der Beitrag bietet einen zusammengefassten Lebenslauf Patočkas in Kombination mit relevanten biographischen Angaben des Autors. Er schildert Patočkas Wirken an der Karls-Universität in den Jahren 1968–1972, beschreibt die Fortsetzung in den Wohnungsseminaren in den dunklen Jahren 1972–1977 und erfasst den Höhepunkt dieses Wirkens in der Charta 77. Der Autor erläutert, wie das inoffizielle Patočka-Archiv am Todestag von Jan Patočka entstand, noch vor den schrecklichen Ereignissen rund um Patočkas Begräbnis. Noch vor Gründung des offiziellen Jan Patočka-Archivs am 1. Januar 1990 wurden zahlreiche Bände aus seinen Schriften in den Jahren 1977–1989 dem Samisdat zur Verfügung gestellt. Damit wurde die erfolgreiche Herausgabe der Gesammelten Schriften Jan Patočkas nach 1990 möglich gemacht.

This paper presents a short biography of Jan Patočka, as well as biographical data of the author in connection to the life and work of Jan Patočka. The paper describes Patočka's academic activity at Charles University between 1968 and 1972, how he continued by giving private underground seminars in the dark years of 1972 to 1976, and how his engagement culminated in the dissident movement Charter 77. The author explains how the unofficial underground Patočka Archive was established on the very day of Patočka's death, even before the terrible events around his funeral. Before the official Patočka Archive was founded on the 1st of January, 1990, many volumes of his works were edited secretly during the period of 1977 to 1989. This made it possible to continue successfully publishing the series of the Complete Works of Jan Patočka after 1990.

Příspěvek podává stručný Patočkův životopis kombinovaný s relevantními biografickými daty autora příspěvku. Líčí Patočkovo působení na UK v letech 1968-72, popisuje jeho pokračování v bytových seminářích v temných letech 1972–77 a zachycuje jeho vyvrcholení v hnutí Charta 77. Autor vysvětluje, jak neoficiální Patočkův archiv vzniknul téhož dne, kdy Jan Patočka zemřel, ještě před hrůznými událostmi kolem jeho pohřbu. Než byl dne 1. ledna 1990 založen oficiální Archiv Jana Patočky, mnoho svazků jeho spisů bylo v letech 1977–89 dáno k dispozici samizdatu. Tím bylo umožněno úspěšně pokračovat ve vydávání Sebraných spisů Jana Patočky po roce 1990.
