Mortet, Vincent - Taylor, AndrewAdvanced diamond electrochemical electrodes (ADE2).
Internal code: ADE2 ; 2018
Technical parameters: Resistivity: 0.136 ohm.cm / Potential window in aqueous electrolyte: 2.5-2.7 V / Capacitance: ca. 11 μF.cm-2 / Active surface area per cm2: > 100 cm2 / Sample dimension: 1cm2 up to 8 inch.
Economic parameters: The production cost (materials, personal, amortization, overhead) is estimated to be ca. 398 CZK (15.5 Euros) per cm2 of porous boron doped diamond electrodes. In optimized conditions, the fabrication cost would drop to ca. 105 CZK (4 Euros) per cm2. For comparison, 1 cm2 flat boron doped diamond electrodes from the company Element six costs ca. 65 Euros (excluding VAT). The implementation of the production of porous boron-doped diamond electrodres using the technology developed in this project requires an investment in equipment of ca. 11,000,000 CZK (ca. 9 MCZK for the diamond deposition system and 2 MCZK in laboratory equipment) and a minimum of 2 full time employes.
