Economic parameters: Ex situ konzervace rostlin včetně zakládání klonových archivů je součástí komplexní druhové ochrany rostlin, podílí se tak na zachování druhů i jejich variability. Metodika je učená především pro kurátory a odborné správce sbírek. Svým dílem přispívá k ex situ ochraně cenných materiálů, umožňuje racionalizovat výběr nových odchylek a zajímavých jedinců vzhledem ke kombinacím znaků, které zatím nejsou v kultuře a jsou vzácné v přírodních populacích, a tím šetří finanční zdroje zřizovatelů zahrad i ochrany přírody.
