AnnotationMeasurements of the surface tension and the density of aqueous systems carried out at the Institute of Thermomechanics were introduced in a talk given at the meeting of the IAPWS working group Physical Chemistry of Aqueous Systems (PCAS). The data for surface tension of water with ethylene glycol, glycerol, sodium chloride and lower alcohols were presented with a special focus on low temperatures including the metastable supercooled region below the freezing point temperature. Supporting data for the density measured with a commercial vibrating tube densimeter (VTD) were also shown. Own calibration procedure for the VTD instrument was discussed in addition.
