Zatímco první akcentuje rétorické kořeny pojmu evidence, soustředí se na jeho rétorické a narativní aspekty a soudí, že i v tomto období byly pro pojem evidence zásadní, druhá konstatuje, že v důsledku prosazování nových přírodovědných metod se pojem evidence mění a rétorická evidence se transformuje v evidenci empirickou. Konfrontace obou interpretací otevírá však mimo jiné i otázku, zda se vzájemně nutně vylučují. Description in English The aim of this essay is to describe two related but as contradictory presented interpretations of the notion of evidence in the Early Modern thought. While the first emphasis the rhetorical origins of the notion and focuses its rhetorical and narrative aspects, the other claims, that due to the introduction of new methods in the natural sciences the notion of evidence changes and the rhetorical evidence is transformed into the empirical one. The confrontation of the two interpretations raises a question whether the rhetorical and empirical aspects of the evidence in the Early Modern thought are necessarily exclusive.
