The paper describes the preparation of new composite based on natural bentonite and synthetically prepared manganese oxides. The manganese oxides were precipitated on the surface of activated sodium bentonite particles. Manganese oxide (MnO2) with birnessite structure was present in all of the modified bentonite samples.
