Protože naměřených hodnot dat může být jen konečný počet, je důležitá úloha nahradit data funkčním předpisem, tj. analytickým vzorečkem. Hlavním smyslem té náhrady je rychlý výpočet přibližných hodnot měřené veličiny v jiných bodech, než jsou samotné uzly měření. Navíc lze data vyjádřená v této podobě derivovat nebo integrovat a vrátit se tak k analýze vlastností původních naměřených dat, jejich růstu, poklesu nebo integrálu z nich. Ukázky tohoto postupu jsou ilustrovány na jednorozměrném příkladu meteorologických teplotních dat. Description in English Data measuring, processing, understanding, and interpreting is the fundamental research process in many branches of science. Since we are able to obtain only a finite number of data items the problem of replacing the data by an analytical formula is of importance. The principal aim of this replacement is a fast computation of approximate values of the quantity measured at points different from the measurement nodes. Moreover, the data in this form can be differentiated or integrated, which is a step on the way back to the analysis of the original data measured, the data increase or decrease, or the integral of it. Examples of these procedures are illustrated by processing simple 1D meteorological thermal data.
