Mapuje výsledky dosavadního bádání – zejména českého – o identitotvorné funkci hranice na straně jedné a rozhraničování jako produktu sociální praxe na straně druhé. Současně text sumarizuje charakter samostatné sekce X. kongresu českých historiků v Ostravě, která nesla název Hranice a identity. Description in English The article deals with the significance of identities and frontiers as prominent subjects in the current humanities, particularly the significance they achieved by their conceptual interconnection. It summarizes the separate section of the 10th Czech Historians´ Congress in Ostrava which was devoted just to the connection of the two concepts both in the Czech historiography and in the (international) historiography of the Czech history.
