Language eng - English Country US - United States Keywords IMUNOR ; hematopoiesis ; cytokines Subject RIV BO - Biophysics CEZ AV0Z50040702 - BFU-R (2007-2013) Annotation We have shown that hematopoiesis-stimulating activity of perorally administered low-molecular-weight (<12 kDa) extract of pig blood leukocytes, IMUNOR, is mediated by induction of production of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), whose elevated levels in sera after IMUNOR administration have been determined. Experiments using antibodies against the cytokines mentioned have demonstrated that G-CSF plays a key role in the stimulation of hematopoiesis by IMUNOR, whereas IL-6 has an auxiliary role.
