AnnotationThe rapid development of vehicular transportation supported by growing economy in many countries is connected with several environmental issues. About 1.5 billion of tires have to be changed per annum and thus significant volumes of waste materials are generated. Old tires may be used for production of granulates and other types of products and these recycled materials may be reused in rubber and tire industry and other industrial sectors. Nevertheless, the quality of such recycled products is strongly affected by applied recycling processes that have high impact on their utility properties. This paper is aimed to summarization of currently applied technological equipment's and procedures used in waste tire recycling. Classical methods, such as shredding and grinding, and modem approaches using ozone exposition reactors and jet mills are presented and discussed.
