Description in English The report deals with the objective lens extender's design and the calculation of this system's electron-optical properties. The extender is a ring with a fixing mechanism placed on the objective lens pole piece of the scanning electron microscope's objective lens. It changes objective lens parameters: (a) value and position of maximal magnetic flux density (b) electrostatic field of the objective lens in the deceleration regime. The extender system provides better resolution and detection of signal electrons by the in-lens detector of the microscope. The report describes the extender's optimization and the scanning electron microscope's operation regime with the extender. The main goal is to reach the smallest spot size with optimized detection of signal electrons (high collection efficiency and separation of the secondary electron from the rest of spectra). We compare the results of electron-optical calculation with experimental data.
