Demonstruje je na Bulharsku a Zambii, dvojici zemí zastupující východoevropské socialistické a rozvojové státy, tedy někdejší Druhý a Třetí svět. Tamní, do značné míry idealizovaný, ženský aktivismus a jeho mezinárodní prezentaci pak jednostranně kriticky konfrontuje se Spojenými státy. Description in English The author reviews Kristen Ghodsee’s Second World, Sexond Sex which deals with the period of UN World Conferences of Women between 1975 and 1995. This very specific period of global women’s activism is exemplified on the cases of Bulgaria and Zambia, representing the East-European Socialist (Second) and the developing (Third) world. Their, substantially idealized, activism and its international presentation is critically confronted by Ghodsee with the situation in the USA.
