AnnotationAs algal organic matter (AOM) is not only difficult to coagulate, but also hinders coagulation of other substances, the paper investigates the impact of AOM derived from two common cyanobacterial species Microcystis aeruginosa and Merismopedia tenuissima on removability of other impurities naturally occurring in surface waters by means of coagulation/flocculation as the essential and simultaneously most vulnerable step in the overall solid-liquid separation scheme in drinking water treatment.
