AnnotationOptical binding occurs in systems of both dielectric and metal particles and results in the formation of clusters and coupled dynamical behaviour. Optical binding between spherical particles has been long studied, but comparatively little work has appeared describing binding in lower symmetry systems. In this paper we discuss recent theoretical work and computer simulations of optical binding between nanowires in linearly polarised counter propagating beams.
