AnnotationProliferation of algal blooms poses serious challenges to drinking water treatment. Besides the cells, also dissolved algal organic matter (AOM) must be effectively removed. This study investigated coagulation of Merismopedia tenuissima cells, AOM, and cells in the presence of AOM in order to reach maximum removal efficiency. The coagulation conditions were optimized and the involved reaction mechanisms were elucidated.
