Annotation	Kniha se věnuje problematice kasty a kastovního systému. Pokouší se dát odpověď na otázku, jak kastovní systém vznikl, jak se postupem času proměnil a jak vypadá dnes. Blíže si všímá koloniálního výzkumu, cenzů a rezervací, které měly na proměny kastovního systému zásadní vliv. Odmítá některá tradiční, avšak mylná či nepravděpodobná vysvětlení tohoto fenoménu, a pokouší se podívat na celou problematiku „jinak“. Úhelným kamenem pohledu tentokrát nejsou kasty nejvyšší, tedy bráhmani, ale kasty nejnižší, tedy nedotýkatelní. Čtenář se dozví, jak to vidí oni, jakou mají úlohu v rámci kastovního systému, zda si přejí svou kastu změnit, jak se snaží čelit kastovnímu útlaku a diskriminaci a také zda jsou opravdu nedotýkatelní
Description in English	The main subject of the book is the caste and caste system. It tries to answer the question of the origin of the caste system and its further development. It notices the role of colonial research, censuses and system of reservations, which affected evolution of caste system importantly. The book refuses several traditional (and erroneous) theories and tries to view the caste system with new eyes. This time the main focus is not on the highest castes, i.e., the brahmins, but on the lowest castes, i.e., the untouchables. The book tries to present their views, describe their role within the caste system, as well as their emancipation strategies
