AnnotationThe present study is focused on two sets of isomeric and quasi-isomeric imidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs) with the bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]imide anion. In the first group ionic liquids constituted with 1-butyl-3-alkylimidazolium cation where alkyl stands for pentyl, isopentyl, 3-pentyl, and cyclopentyl were studied. Similarly, in the second group the alkyl substituent on the cation was pentyl, isopentyl, and neopentyl, respectively, whereas the butyl substituent was replaced with an oligoether 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethyl group. Such design of IL structures enabled us to evaluate the structural effect inside of one group (isomers) and between the two ranges with a different substituent in the N1-position (alkyl vs. oligoether).
