AnnotationIn this article, the basic outputs of the study of influence of rock texture and composition on the fracture toughness (FT) of rocks measured by the chevron notch (CB) technique and subsequent analysis of cracks propagation using the X-ray tomography (CT) are presented. It was observed that the porosity and mineralogical composition of the rock are the key factors influencing the crack propagation and the values of FT.
