Starosti jamskih sedimentov tako ne pokrivajo le celotnega pleistocena, ampak tudi pliocen in celo del miocena. Iz tega sledi, da sta se zakrasevanje in speleogeneza začela še prej, nekje po eocenu (oligocenu), ko je prišlo do regresije morja. V osrednjem delu Dinarskega krasa je kopna faza dokazana z obstojem intramontanih bazenov v miocenu, kot tudi pri nas s premogom v Kanizarici (pliocen) in Kocevju (miocen, pliocen). Description in English Results showed that sediments in Slovene karst area are much older, that expected decades ago. The age of cave sediments covers not only whole Pleistocene, but also Pliocene and Upper Miocene. The karstification and speleogenesis, according results, started after Eocene marine regression (Oligocene). This karstification phase has been known in other parts of Dinaric Karst from Miocene intramontane basins, in Slovenia in Kanižarica (Pliocene) and Kočevje (Miocene, Pliocene) poljes.
