Autor události zasazuje do širšího rámce vztahů mezi tehdy hlavními světovými mocnostmi – Španělskem, Portugalskem, Svatým stolcem a Francií, které se účastnily misionářské práce v Číně v době dynastie Ming a počátku dynastie Čching. Upozorňuje na odlišnosti v přístupu jednotlivých řádů k evangelizaci obyvatel Číny. Description in English This publication provides an overview of the arrival of Christianity into China from the beginning of the modern era, the history of intrusion of major Catholic orders to China from the 1550s until the end of the 17th century. It highlights the differences in approach of individual orders in the evangelization of China’s population, which is particularly evident in the Chinese Rites controversy. The reader will find in this book extensive information on the relevant religious orders of the Roman Catholic Church. This publication can become an important tool for professional religionists, ethnologists, historians, philosophers, orientalists and general public interested in the history of the Roman Catholic Church in East Asia, particularly during its early modern history.
