Annotation	Studie se zabývá historií křesťanských Alanů v mongolské Číně ve 13.-14. století. Počet a vliv křesťanů (vč. Alanů) v Číně na konci 13. století lze nalézt v dopise Johna z Montecorvina a v první polovině následujícího století ve zprávě arcibiskupa Soltanie. Jejich postavení do konce vlády mongolské dynastie rostlo, jak je vidět z pozice křesťanských Alanů, kterou zaujámali v říši v době návštěvy Jana Marignoly. Také Odoric z Pordenone několikrát zmínil „velké barony“ na dvoře Velikého chána.
Description in English	The number and influence of Christians in China at the end of the thirteenth century may be gathered from a letter by John of Montecorvino, and in the first part of the following century from a report from the Archbishop of Soltania, who describes them as more than thirty thousand in number and as rich people. That Christians continued to rise in influence during the short remainder of the Mongol reign appears probable from the position which we find the Christian Alans to occupy in the empire at the time of John of Marignola’s visit. Also Odoric of Pordenone several times mentioned ‘great barons’ (magni barones aspicientes solum ad personam regis) at the court of the Great Khan.
