This difference is given by the interaction of interstitial atoms (nanoparticles) with edge dislocation. For small velocities of dislocation the Cottrell cloud of nanoparticles can move together with dislocation and thus decrease the dislocation mobility. In metallurgy the decreased mobility leads to strengthening of materials. Shape of the Cottrell cloud is calculated and the role of the diffusion anisotropy is evaluated.
