Seznamuje čtenáře s vývojem gramatiky a slovníku těchto zobrazení od antiky až po současnost. Kniha není určena pouze odborníkům, její text je v podstatě komentářem k autentickým pramenům - textům a především k pěti stům typickým zobrazením Perseova mýtu. Nejstarší zobrazené památky jsou z 2. tisíciletí před Kristem, nejmladší dílo je ze současnosti, pocházejí nejen z celé Evropy, ale i z předního Východu a severní Ameriky. Mezi těmito vybranými obrazy a sochami inspirovanými Perseovým mýtem jsou i nejvýznamnější zobrazení, která vznikla v českých zemích. Description in English The book is about representations of Perseus, Medusa, Danae, Andromeda, Pegasus, and other protagonists of the ancient myth of Perseus. It analyses the evolution of grammar and vocabulary of these depictions from Greek antiquity up to present. The book is not destined exclusively to specialists, its text is a commentary on five hundred characteristic representations. The oldest depictions date to the second millennium BC, the youngest ones from the present time, they originated not only in Europe but also from the Near East and Northern America. Among these selected statues and paintings inspired by the myth of Perseus are all the most significant representations from Czech lands.
