AnnotationThe expansion dynamics of a laser-produced plasma has been studied using a 3-D particle-in-cell (PIC) code in the presence of an axial magnetic field. The electron-ion plasma (m(i)/m(e) = 100) with finite electron temperature and cold ions is allowed to expand in an axial magnetic field of varying intensity.
