The relief is interpreted as a typical double wedding portrait. A detailed examination of the relief while it was being restored in 2004–2010 revealed that the twig in the hands of Anne is most probably an olive branch, symbol of peace, which could serve here also a symbol of a dowry. Than the composition can refer to the solution of problems of a succession to the Bohemian throne.
