NF-kB inhibition in hereditary hypertriglyceridemic rats led to decreased ROS degradation by superoxide dismutase and to increased cardiac oxidative damage and elevated blood pressure. Under these conditions increased NO generation may represent a counterregulatory mechanism activate by ROS.
