AnnotationWe present a complex study of single-nanocrystal spectroscopy of strain-engineered direct-bandgap silicon nanocrystals over a broad temperature range from 300 K down to 9 K. We show that seemingly different spectral types are connected by spectral diffusion and also provide evidence for the claim that one of the observed spectral structures comes from the radiative recombination of positively charged trions (a quasiparticle containing two holes and one electron).
