AnnotationThe aim of this study is to show the scope of practical application of some landscape ecology concepts in environmental impact assessments of large investment projects implemented in river floodplains on the floodplain forest biodiversity. The presented concept encompass the habitat assessment concept. Application of this concept in the environmental impact assessment of an investment project on landscape biodiversity is demonstrated on the investment project of a transport construction of European importance - Danube-Oder-Elbe (DOE) Canal - in the river floodplains of the Czech Republic.
