Postihla proces vytváření a fungování hlavních forem „naturové“ ochrany – evropsky významných lokalit a ptačích oblastí, a věnovala se též nové progresivní možnosti zajistit územní ochranu evropsky významných lokalit na základě smlouvy s vlastníkem pozemku. Description in English The public lecture presented the main features and objectives of the EU-wide network of nature protection areas. It described how the network was introduced in law and practice in the Czech Republic, focusing on both Special Areas of Conservation (SAC) designated under the Habitats Directive, and Special Protection Areas (SPAs) designated under the Birds Directive. A special attention was paid to the contractual way of ensuring protection in SAC that has been for the first time introduced in the Czech Republic with the NATURA´s implementation.
