AnnotationPaper summarizes issues connected with the phenomenon called transgenerational plasticity (TP) during establishment and evaluation of ecological experiments. In the form of a review on recently published studies on local adaptation I discuss the commonly used approaches used to account for unwanted TP. I also suggest more advanced approach how to deal with unwanted TO in ecological research.
