AnnotationDiamond, a sp3 hybridized carbon phase, shows diverse and exceptional properties ranging from mechanical, chemical, physical and thermal, to optical and electronic qualities. Thus, its potential uses include not only resistive coatings but also extends to multidisciplinary oriented fields including biological applications. Here, we review our recent experimental studies on diamond for microbiological studies. Suitability of various diamond forms, technological procedures and testing different microbiological methodologies are summarized.
