AnnotationThe microbicidal properties of 6 essential oils (EOs; Lavandula angustifolia, Cymbopogon nardus, Citrus aurantifolia, Juniperus communis, Myrtus communis and Cinnamomum zeylanicum ) for 17 microorganisms were determined using the vapour-agar contact method. The most effective EO (i.e. Lavandula angustifolia ) whose volatile components provided the sufficient microbicidal properties was chosen for detailed study of chemical composition.
