    AnnotationThe ostrich fern Matteuccia struthiopteris is widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of pinworms, influenza, dysentery and uterine haemorrhage. The content of bioactive compounds, i.e. stilbenes and flavones was found to be much higher in frond bases and rhizomes than in the fronds of the plant.
