AnnotationResonant ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS) is a technique for investigation of elastic properties of solids based on the inversion of natural frequencies of free elastic vibrations of a small simply shaped specimen. The method can, in principle, provide the full elastic tensor of the sample from a single measurement, which is considerable advantage e.g. in the characterization of low symmetry single crystals.
