Description in English The panorama became from the end of the 18th century a very popular entertainment. Soon after the invention of the medium, the panoramas of Vienna and Prague were exhibited (1803 and 1804). The text based on the analysis of a so far unknown description of the Viennese panorama investigates the reception of the panorama paintings.
