Their magnetic properties can be well adjusted, varying their composition and their size, thus reaching the required parameters for a particular application. The precise control of the magnetic behavior can be facilitated employing strictly monodisperse cores, whereas the colloidal stability and applicability in biological environment can be resolved by a suitable shell. In the present contribution, such monodisperse ferrite cores are reported and their silica coated products are presented.
