AnnotationThe objective is to identify and evaluate the non-linear mechanical parameters of the human skin under loading measured by two different techniques. The first technique is based on ultrasound, and the second consists in analyzing the stress and displacement during the skin stretching. A small skin-loading, computer controlled device, equipped with ultrasonic, stress, and displacement transducers is attached to the human forearm by suction cups. Ultrasonic and mechanical parameters, recorded during programmed loading steps are related to the rheological model of the skin.
