Prostřednictvím fotografického souboru, který vznikl na jihočeském panství rodu de Longueval – Buquoy v polovině 19. století, studie poukazuje na několik pozoruhodných momentů, které se vztahují jak k výzkumu fotografie, tak k bádání o architektuře. Z mnoha objektů, které za vlády Jiřího Jana Jindřicha Buquoye v Rožmberku vznikly, je v příspěvku věnována zvláštní pozornost glorietu, který stával v zahradě Horního hradu a o jehož existenci dnes víme především díky dobovým kresbám, malbám a také fotografiím. Přesné okolnosti vzniku glorietu, který můžeme situovat zhruba do roku 1857, neznáme, nicméně systematičnost, s jakou byl objekt v průběhu dalších desetiletí zaznamenáván, svědčí o tom, že měl pro stavebníka zvláštní, možná i symbolický význam. Description in English The study deals with the connections between photographs and architecture in the mid-19th century, both from the factual and interpretational point of view. Through the collection of photographs taken on the southern Bohemian estate of the de Longueval-Buquoy family in the mid-19th century, the study points out several factors relating to research into both photography and architecture. From among the many buildings that were constructed in Rožmberk the article devotes special attention to the gloriette that stood in the garden of the Upper Castle, and of which existence we are aware today primarily thanks to drawings, painting and also photographs of the period. We do not know the exact circumstances that led to the construction of the gloriette, which we can date to approximately 1857, but the systematic way in which it was recorded during the course of subsequent decades testify to the fact that it had a special, and perhaps a symbolic, significance, for the person who had it built.
