Annotation	Článek přináší komentované ukázky z Maqrízího popisu pyramid v Gíze a Sfingy a rovněž vyprávění věnovaná jejich původu, smyslu i bájné historii, což živě dokládá, jak středověcí egyptští učenci vnímali tyto klenoty starověku.
Description in English	The present article provides selected samples from al-Maqrīzī´s description of pyramids (al-ahrām) in Gīza and Sphinx (Abū al-hawl) as well as engaging narratives devoted to their origins, meaning and history in commented Czech translations. It vividly displays the way medieval Egyptian scholars perceived those jewels of their ancient past.
