AnnotationThis paper presents numerical simulation of radiative transfer in the discharge chamber of the hybrid-stabilized argon–water electric arc. Results of simulation for 300–600 A and argon mass flow rates of 22.5–40 slm reveal that a significant amount of radiation is being reabsorbed in arc fringes.
