Annotation	A series of oligodentate ligands, the structure of which consists of central aromatic core and 3 or 4 tetrathiafulvalene-based arms, has been synthesized. Proper positioning of the arms gives rise to an electron-rich cavity suitable for inclusion of electron-deficient guests.
