AnnotationWhen compared with the wild-type S. enteritidis, the rfaC and rfaL mutants exhibited increased associations with porcine neutrophils and stimulated them for a higher production of reactive oxygen species. Polymyxin B treatment decreased the interactions of the wild-type strain and the rfaC mutant with neutrophils more effectively than in the case of rfaL mutant, thus showing a lower influence of lipid A recognition on rfaL mutant interactions with porcine neutrophils.
