AnnotationThis study has shown that single phase, epitaxial SrFe12O19 thin films can be prepared by chemical solution deposition method on SrTiO3 (111) single crystal substrates. The problem of homogeneous nucleation of unoriented grains can be avoided by first producing a substrate that contains a high density of well-oriented, isolated SrM grains. These well-oriented seeds were formed by the breakup of polycrystalline, finely grained seeding layer prepared under optimum deposition and heat treatment conditions.
