    AnnotationThe effects of steam locomotives including the sleeper and cross girder effects were investigated. The basic dynamic characteristics of bridges are summarized in figures. The resonant vibration has occured on bridges under high speed trains of new types in recent time which awake the intensive vibration as well as the necessity to asses the bridge at fatigue. The dynamic investigations of the Messina Bridge. Possibilities of the bridge damping are discussed.
