    AnnotationThe effect of Sc, Pr, and Ce co-doping on the emission and scintillation properties of lutetium-aluminum epitaxial garnet layers, Lu3Al5O12, was studied. These garnet layers provide better emission and scintillation response compared to those without Sc co-doping and energy transfer from sensitizer Sc3+ to activator Pr3+ ions that was observed for small Sc doping levels consequently resulted in increased radioluminescence intensity and photoelectron yield.
