Annotation2-dimensional PIV measurement is performed in wind-channel with model of street canyons. Two geometries - flat and pitched roof - are tested in terms of flow dynamics. Velocity vector fields in vertical planes within canyons are analysed by Quadrant technique, Wavelet analysis and Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD). Wavelet analysis with Morlet function is applied on velocity data. Physical interpretation was done with help of PIV records. Most energetic events in the flow can be assigned to the sweep and ejection events. Vortices are not rare, however they do not bring energy in a quasi-periodic manner to be nicely detected by Morlet wavelet. POD is applied either on velocity data either on vorticity field. Rather a significant distinction between dynamics above two shapes of roof is found out.
